EML Live is a local fishing and lake-life app for Eagle Mountain Lake, Texas, run by a local angler. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Questions: [email protected].
What we collect
- Founding member sign-up (emllive.com/join): first name, email, optional mobile number, how you get on the lake, whether you're an angler, guide or business, whether you want the Lake Report, and which sign or link you came from.
- App account: during the beta the app creates an account tied to your phone (no email or password). We store the handle you choose and whether you're a founding member.
- What you post: bite reports, notes, bait updates and photos you choose to share. These are public. Bank and dock posts show the named spot; boat posts show only a general area of the lake. We don't store your GPS location with posts.
- Things that stay on your phone: your private catch log, saved spots, settings and map pins are stored on your device, not on our servers, unless a feature says otherwise.
- Reports: if you report a post, we record that you reported it.
- Basic technical data: our hosting and database providers keep standard logs (like IP address and time of request) for security and to keep the service running.
How we use it
- To run the app and show the live feed.
- To email you about EML Live opening, founding member news and (if you opted in) the weekly Lake Report.
- To keep the community safe: moderating posts and stopping abuse.
- To understand which signs and posts bring people in, so we can grow.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information. We don't share your email or phone with advertisers. If we ever show ads, they won't use your personal information without asking you first.
Who helps us run EML Live
We use service providers that process data for us: Supabase (database, accounts and photo storage) and Cloudflare (website hosting, domain and email forwarding). They may only use it to provide their services to us.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails with the link in any email, or by writing to us.
- Delete any post you made from the app, or ask us to.
- Ask us to see, correct or delete your sign-up info or account by emailing [email protected]. We'll handle it within 30 days.
Keeping it
We keep sign-up info until you ask us to delete it or EML Live shuts down. Posts stay until you or a moderator remove them. Hidden or removed posts may stay in backups for a short time.
Kids
EML Live isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. Young anglers can use it with a parent.
Changes
We'll update this page if anything changes and note the new date at the top. For big changes, we'll email founding members.
